As a technology manager, I believe it is important to continuously learn diverse skills for the knowledge and credibility required to lead. It is essential to realize that technology is often the easiest part of the solution: understanding the complexities of the business problem is often the hardest. I have a strong belief in the spirit of design. I take deep joy in creation of new things regardless of whether the task is technical or non-technical. My activities include electronics, software, creative writing, music and woodworking: sometimes in combination. Responsible for fidelity and high reliability of Pickering A & B nuclear simulators. Leadership of team and primary software architect of development project to modernize Pickering A Nuclear Training simulator. Development of a code-generation system that enabled ~200 nuclear models to be graphically drawn and generated automatically. Successfully migrated a complex nuclear simulator from proprietary to in-house technology based on Open Source. Managed a section of 7-14 people with a diverse code base of approximately 2M lines of code. Led significant simulator projects including Fuel Handling simulator development, Pickering A restart modeling, and work backlog reduction. Responsible for development of simulator governance and work practices. Provided Training interface for OPG Fukushima Response Project.

Development of RighTSTEP simulator architecture: which has subsequently been used on 6 fullscope nuclear simulators and 3 fuel handling simulators. Recognized with Ontario Hydro New Technology Award. Development of web-based Simulator Work Management system: integrates software configuration management, work tracking, and performance reporting into one solution. Developed as one of the first web applications in Ontario Hydro, this is still a cornerstone of the business today. Has tracked 22000 jobs and 33000 software changes to date.
