About
I solve problems for a living. As the world continues to accelerate, I'd rather be wrong in real-time than right in slide 87 of a QBR that no one remembers. I work with teams across energy, mobility, and government to figure out what's actually broken and how to fix it without unnecessary complexity. Sometimes that means AI. Sometimes it means a whiteboard and a candid conversation. Either way, I help people move. I trained as a chemical engineer at Oklahoma State, where I learned firsthand how systems of all kinds fail in oil and gas. At the Bush School at Texas A&M, I went deep into defense, national security, and organizational dynamics. At Johns Hopkins, I sharpened my systems thinking and consulting mindset. Outside of work, I facilitate national leadership programs, sit on the board of trustees for my fraternity, and care deeply about building communities that actually function. I also get far too invested in football, art, books, and the occasional video game rabbit hole. I'll meet you where you are. I can speak strategy, ops, tech, or just plain English. Whatever helps get things unstuck. My slides are art, but you'll never find them in a museum. They're for fixing things. My first job was in a kitchen, and in someways, I feel like I never left. I'm like a short-order cook in a fine-dining kitchen; quick, steady, and focused on getting it right without making it complicated.

As part of a consulting engagement with the Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CVSICU), I led a multidisciplinary team to analyze and redesign patient care protocols aimed at preventing hospital-acquired pressure wound injuries, a $11B annual problem across U.S. healthcare systems. Our work involved more than 150 hours of direct observation, data analysis, and clinician interviews to evaluate the root causes behind Johns Hopkins’ elevated rate of stage 2+ pressure injuries. We discovered gaps in how legacy protocols were implemented and understood by clinical staff, revealing systemic challenges in information flow, equipment utilization, and human factors engineering. Key contributions included: Human Factors & Systems Analysis: Mapped end-to-end workflows and identified points of friction between clinical intent and operational execution. Process Redesign: Recommended a visual notification system and individualized turning protocols to replace one-size-fits-all procedures. Technology Optimization: Proposed higher utilization and training for the $500K Hill-Rom Progressa bed system to improve pressure redistribution effectiveness. Data Integration: Outlined improvements to data collection and charting in EPIC for real-time tracking of skin integrity and wound incidence. Our final recommendations were presented to CVSICU leadership and informed subsequent revisions to Johns Hopkins’ wound prevention and patient-handling protocols.
