I am a highly experienced business and educational leader who has successfully led groups of schools and large schools within the international, private independent and government sectors. I combine a finance background with 30 years in education and educational leadership to create a unique view of the interplay between education and business. I believe that leadership in its' rawest form, is about securing clarity of values and shared purpose. I achieve this by: By building a compelling shared vision and setting direction * Developing a climate of high expectations and a corporate culture focussed on the improvement of teaching and learning * Understanding and developing people through coaching (building relationships) * Redesigning the organisation to meet changing needs * Leading teaching and learning * Maximising resource utilisation so that student learning is optimised and at the same time all stakeholders are valued * Being optimistic, positive and improvement oriented. Leadership matters. Effective leadership makes a difference in improving learning and is second only to quality of teaching in improving student outcomes. My goal as an instructional leader is to maximise student outcomes and employee performance by setting clear directions, developing people, maximising performance and redesigning the organisation to meet changing needs.
