David D'Alessandro
Principal @ Ostrich Chairs a wholly owned subsidiary of Deltess Corp.
About
The story of OSTRICH began in February 2003 with co-founder Dave D’Alessandro. While on his honeymoon, Dave was relaxing on a lounge chair, enjoying a good book. When he flipped onto his stomach to even out his tan, he struggled to find a comfortable way to keep reading—a common dilemma. That’s when inspiration struck. He envisioned a better, more functional design for lounge chairs. Upon returning home, he put his creativity to work, sketching out the concept that would become the Ostrich 3N1 Chair. A few months later, Dave shared his idea with friends, including his longtime high school buddy, Adam Tesser. With a background in finance and a keen business sense, Adam immediately saw the potential. When Dave proposed a partnership, Adam didn’t hesitate. In January 2004, they officially launched OSTRICH - a wholly owned subsidiary of Deltess Corp. After two years of development and securing a utility patent (6,854,807 B2), OSTRICH introduced its first product, the OSTRICH 3N1 Chair, in August 2005. Fueled by growing demand, OSTRICH quickly expanded its product line. The OSTRICH Chaise Lounge was the first addition, followed by the OSTRICH PakSeat backpack. Since then, the company has continued to innovate, adding new products each year, including bags, umbrellas, towels, and more. OSTRICH has built a strong and growing customer base, with products available across the U.S., Canada and Australia—and now exploring expansion into Europe. Committed to innovation and quality, the company continues to develop new ideas, expand its distribution network, and build strong partnerships Dave & Adam Co-founders
