I obtained a student summer placement over the 5 years I studied at University of Dundee to increase my understanding of the industry. Over this time I was given the opportunity to work on a variety of projects including: Broughty Ferry Flood Alleviation project – 2008 Campbeltown Flood Alleviation project – 2009 Lot 2 Capital Maintenance – 2010 & 2011 The flood alleviation project increased my understanding of construction requirements and allowed myself to become familiar working in a project team. Towards the end of my placements I was comfortable with assisting in managerial roles including liasing with clients, running and organising portions of the construction project and understanding project documents and drawings.
