Strategic development of a new and unique supply chain to enable Volumetric Modular Production in a startup business for the Berkeley group. Adopting Lean manufacturing principles and a single piece flow line approach to produce high end luxury apartments. The group, which includes Berkeley Homes, St Williams, St Edwards, St George, St James, St Joseph are increasing their global capacity to meet the shortfall in housing mainly in and around London and the South East. Responsible for Supply Chain management, all procurement activity, commercial performance, negotiation of contracts, achieving the business key objectives by communicating and embedding them in the supplier's offer and subsequent performance. Forecasting material spend and deliver to budget. Selection of strategic partners; implementation of a consolidation partner strategy with a £50M annual spend. Development of bespoke structural steel supply chain, establishing a capable manufacturing process and managing investment to ensure maintained production capacity with a £30M annual spend. Establishing service level agreements, KPI metrics and commercial incentives to drive continuous improvement. New supplier selection and validation of NPI process. Managing and maintaining Sustainability objectives. Establishing and standardising the procurement process in a new business. Introduction of a new ERP system and recruitment of the supply chain team.

Responsible for Operations, managing operational staff, responsible to deliver projects on time and on budget. Maintaining H&S best practise, ensuring CDM compliance and delivering continuous improvement. Developing supply chain relationships and managing resources to maximise commercial performance.

Responsible for global supply management; Operations in Iasi Powertrain Plant, Romania (2000 employees) & Barcelona Diesel Plant, Spain (500 employees); Project Launch / new product introduction team based in Gillingham Technical Centre UK (200 engineers + support functions). Responsible for a 200M€ material spend per year. Developing and sustaining regional purchasing organisations. Managing supplier relationships throughout Europe, India, Japan & China Developing material forecast and achieving budget. Implementing annual cost improvements typically 10M€, supporting business case decisions / new business quotes through cost estimation & cost modelling. Responsible for purchasing project management, New Model Launch activity, Supply base development & supplier localisation. Managing the implementation of a new supply base for Common Rail Diesel pump production. Ensuring suppliers are ready for serial production on time and with the correct processes in order to meet the customer’s quality and capacity requirements, whilst maintaining a product that is within the business case cost and remains profitable. Achieved through central co-ordination of core functions; developing engineering requirements; liaising with manufacturing engineering, plant operations, commodity & quality teams and project managing the supplier. Applying risk reduction techniques, flawless launch, cost management, procurement strategy, link & leverage and cost modelling.
