Primarily responsible for overseeing and development of railway infrastructure, system, operation and MRO projects.

Responsible for the upgrading and rehabilitation of 25KV electrified double track infrastructure, signaling system, communication system and electrification system for KTMB (National Railway), the intercity/commuter train operator. The accountability includes upgrading of station facilities, flood mitigation, culverts, bridges, remodeling of container yard, logistic warehouse and central permanent way regional office as part of the Statement of Needs for the project.

Responsible for strategic rail engineering development, system upgrading and rolling stock rehabilitation programs.

Responsible for the development of Railway Scheme, Employer Requirements, General Specifications/Particular Specifications and Reference Design for the Government’s Turnkey Project. Finalised the proposed track alignment, depot layout, maintenance facilities and land acquisition for 40 km MRT3 (Circle Line) of which 32 km underground tunnel with 19 underground stations, and 8 km elevated track with 5 elevated stations. The Circle Line integrates with 11 existing stations at LRT1, LRT2, MRT1, MRT2 and KTMB. End of 2018, the MRT3 project was put on hold by the new Government (after GE14).

Rapid Rail Sdn Bhd - Subsidiary of Prasarana Malaysia Berhad Responsible for the operations, engineering and Maintenance of Kuala Lumpur Urban Rail Transportation systems namely Ampang/Sri Petaling Line (AGL/SPL), Kelana Jaya Line (KJL), Monorail Line (MRL) and MRT Sungai Buloh - Kajang Line (SBK). Fully accountable for ridership performance, sustainable operations and overall KPIs of the urban rail transportation system at Klang Valley.

Prasarana Rail and Infrastructure Projects Sdn Bhd (PRAISE) - Subsidiary of Prasarana Malaysia Berhad Development and construction of BRT Sunway System from Setia Jaya Station to USJ 7 Station. This project was considered a successful Public Private Partnership (PPP) in KL completed in 2015. Development and construction of 36 km Ampang/Sri Petaling Line Extension Project from Sri Petaling to Putra Heights and Kelana Jaya Line Extension Project from Kelana Jaya to Putra Height. The project includes construction of new depot at Putra Height, upgrading/route rationalization of Ampang depot and procurement/testing/commissioning 50 sets of 6-car trains. The key challenge was on the migration of signaling from Fixed Block system to Computerized Based Train Control (CBTC) system on the operational LRT (brownfield project). Responsible in the early planning and development of the Light Rail Transit Line 3 (LRT 3) Project. This line forms the backbone of east-west corridor under the Urban Rail Development Plan (URDP) for the Klang Valley and Greater KL. Provide high-level advisory and technical support on the proposed Urban Transport system for BRT Kota Kinabalu and Rail Transit System (RTS) for Johor Bahru – Singapore.

Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd - Subsidiary of Prasarana Malaysia Berhad Lead a strategic business unit under Prasarana to operate and maintain stage bus services. The company provides public transport services in Kuala Lumpur (RapidKL), Penang (RapidPenang) and Kuantan (RapidKuantan). Responsible for the development and opening of the RapidKuantan stage bus services and GoKL Free Bus Services (Green Lane: KL-Bukit Bintang and Purple Lane: Pasar Seni- Bukit Bintang). Accountable on the operations and efficient maintenance of large fleet of 1,518 buses for RapidKL , 400 buses for RapidPenang and 80 buses for RapidKuantan to provide passengers with safe, reliable, comfort and efficient services.

Lead the division responsible for company infrastructure development, central procurement, works contract, corporate/project safety, security workforce and information technology to support group-wide integrated information technology to enhance efficiency of the business processes, decision making and promote the use of information technology to meet company’s core business objectives.

Rangkaian Pengangkutan Integrasi Deras Sdn Bhd (RAPID) is now under Prasarana Malaysia Berhad. Ensure sustainable maintenance and operations of driverless Train system, Wayside electrical & electronics system, Power supply system, Track network system, Workshop equipment and machineries. Responsible for the management of the remote Control Centre for the first fully automated driverless train system. The roles include monitoring stations operations, trains operations, automatic fare collection system, customer support, revenue collection and cash management. Accountable for the Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and overal National Key Result Area (NKRA).

PUTRA under Renong Group was the owner and operator of the second Light Rail Transit (LRT 2) system in Malaysia. Responsible for opening of the second Light Rail Transit (LRT2) system in time for the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur. Attended extensive system maintenance and operations training of fully automated driverless train with Computerized Based Train Control (CBTC) system and Linear Induction Motor concept at Sky Train, Vancouver, Canada. Responsible for the development of local team to undertake maintenance and operations of the first fully automated driverless train with the state-of-the-art technology in Malaysia.

STAR under a Consortium was the owner and operator of the first Light Rail Transit (LRT 1) system in Malaysia. Lead the Training, Quality Assurance & Quality Control Department for the development of department’s policy, training modules/manuals as well as internal quality audit programs. Attended extensive maintenance and operations training programme at Belgium Metro, Belgium. Certified trainer for specific engineering and operations modules including the LRT train drivers. Set up the pioneer maintenance and operations team to operate the first LRT system from Ampang/Sentul Timur/City Centre to Bukit Jalil stadium for the 1998 Commonwealth Games.

Extensive experience in engineering, maintenance and retrofitting of locomotives, passenger coaches, power generating cars, freight wagons and workshop plant & machineries. Gained hands-on experience on MRO of diesel locomotives powered by Pielstick, Ruston Paxman, MTU, Mitsubishi, and GM engines. Also responsible for technical safety of the entire intercity train operations.
