Responsible for the post-award administrative and financial management of research grants, contracts and commercial contracts ensuring that all activities are carried out in accordance with University Financial Regulations.

Managing a series of specific supplier accounts for which I generated purchase orders, paid invoices and dealt with queries both internal & external. Other internal responsibilities involved issuing petty cash, dealing with income received and entering transfers onto the computer system in accordance with university financial guidelines.

I lead and manage a team responsible for providing financial advice, management and monitoring information for budgets within Adults Social Care services to a number of stakeholders. Duties include; Provision of accurate and timely budget monitoring information to corporate functions following effective communication with budget holders and heads of service on reporting position. Preparation, maintenance and closure of revenue accounts in an accurate and timely manner as well as the completion of statutory returns and any other financial requirements. Assisting with the development and implementation of service objectives and plans and ensuring the provision of a high quality financial management service. A developing part of my role has been to work with service managers providing financial support to enable the effective delivery of new projects and service provision initiatives allowing greater efficiency which is needed due to the increases in demand for public services and the pressure on the use of its finances.
