As the Group Chief Information Security Risk Officer (CISRO), I reported to the Group Chief Risk Officer (CRO) and led a global team of over 200 professionals in a mission to drive sustainable risk reduction and cyber resilience. KEY ACHIEVEMENTS & ENGAGEMENTS - Established a suite of leading indicator metrics and a board risk appetite program, driving transparency and accountability across C-suite, Board, and Business Leaders, ensuring the bank operated within 100% risk appetite. - Designed and launched SCB’s first Cyber Threat-led Scenario Risk Assessment, a platform that enhanced stakeholder confidence across internal and external groups - Maintained high-impact engagements with key financial services regulators across UK, Europe, APAC, and the US, significantly elevating SCB’s cybersecurity standing. Successfully shifted the bank’s regulatory position from active scrutiny to global recognition for cyber resilience—achieving compliance and risk appetite milestones across PRA, FCA, HKMA, MAS, and US SEC. - Led the development and implementation of group-wide cybersecurity policies and enterprise security architecture assurance, ensuring alignment with SCB’s strategic business growth objectives. - Built and led a multi-award-winning Cyber Red Team from the ground up, conducting threat resilience testing, modeling sophisticated attack scenarios, and providing control strength assurance. Led and managed regulatory threat intelligence testing programs, including CBEST and Intelligence-led Cyber Attack Simulation Testing (iCAST), ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory expectations and strengthening SCB’s cyber resilience posture.

As the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at icare, overseeing cybersecurity for an entity with assets like the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge, my role is pivotal. With assets over $180 billion, icare's scale rivals that of an ASX 50 company, demanding a nuanced approach to cyber risk, resilience, and privacy. My focus is on embedding 'Digital Trust' throughout icare's operations and customer interactions, ensuring that our commitment to secure and ethical conduct is clear and unwavering. Embedded cybersecurity into our culture by aligning it with business objectives and elevating digital trust awareness across all levels of the organization. Strategic engagement with the board, executives, employees, partners, and customers has fostered a collective responsibility for cyber resilience, making it a fundamental part of every role. Through innovative governance, cross-functional collaboration, and cutting-edge technologies, we have transformed cybersecurity from a traditional IT function into a core business enabler, protecting our assets, safeguarding the privacy of NSW citizens, and setting new benchmarks for the industry.
