Employed behavioral modification techniques such as positive reinforcement to treat children diagnosed along the autism spectrum. Tracked the progress of clients and kept notes on the client’s behaviors. Taught children diagnosed with autism communication skills, social skills, and life skills to help them function in school, at home, and with their peers.

I offer courses in English for people that do not speak English as their first language. The courses are offered at the level of the student and the lesson plan is modified to meet the needs of the student. Courses are given for both basic, conversational English, and business English.

Ensures the safety of camp members as well as staff. Responsible for resolving conflicts among camp members as well as conflicts between camp members and their counselors. Trained to use physical restraints when campers are a danger to themselves or other members of the camp. Children’s ages range from as young as 6 to 21and have either emotional or developmental disabilities. Goals of camp are to teach social skills, build peer relationships, teach conflict resolution skills, and give the children skills that will help them integrate into the community.

I worked as Therapuetic Staff Support providing behavioral therapy to clients diagnosed along the Autism spectrum. Worked one on one to implement the clients behavioral plan using methods such as positive reinforcement, reward systems, modeling, as well as other forms of behavioral therapy.

Provided medical in-home protective services to families and children who were at risk for foster care. All families had children with various medical conditions ranging from diabetes to sickle cell anemia. Position entailed having a familiarity with the health care system in order to schedule medical appointments and obtain referrals among other things. As the Social Worker I was also responsible for interacting with many other systems in the family’s life such as the court system, schools, therapists, and social welfare agencies. Social worker helped families with both cash assistance as well as by locating services that clients were eligible for within their communities. Job responsibilities also included medication monitoring, setting up transportation to appointments, acting as a liaison between other professionals involved with the family and arranging meetings. Meticulous notes had to be taken and documented for each interaction between social worker and client and were submitted on a weekly basis
