Daniel Reid

Dan oversaw the RBA’s environmental sustainability, circular materials, and chemical management programs. For each, he engaged with companies, NGOs, and stakeholders throughout the electronics industry to collaborate on solving the greatest environmental, social, and labor challenges in global supply chains. Dan developed tools and created programing that helped all tiers of supply chains improve their capacity and ability to meet increasingly challenging demands in carbon, energy, water, and waste management systems. Through the RBA’s circular materials programs, Dan collaborated across industries to ensure that secondary materials are recaptured using environmentally and socially responsible practices that align to the same due diligence and assurance the industry exhibits in its manufacturing practices. Dan convened members and industry stakeholders to create mature chemical management systems that provide robust and preemptive protection from potential exposure to hazardous substances for all workers through supply chains.

• Developed a sustainability communication strategy for corporate ESG program to align with UN Sustainability Development Goals. • Co-led a workshop on circular economy trends, internal performance, and growth potential with senior environmental staff.

• Assisted surface water programs for New Mexico, 6 tribes, and 2 state beach programs as water quality specialist to interpret requirements and design monitoring programs that comply with federal Clean Water Act. • Assessed data from state and federal sources to identify waterbodies with impaired usage, in compliance with the Clean Water Act §303(d), initializing TMDL and rehabilitation programs. • Worked with stakeholder agencies to redesign monitoring and sampling programs to overcome 2013 funding sequestration while still achieving priorities and maintaining regulatory compliance.
