* Key responsibilities include: * Providing leadership, advice and expertise on all nursing issues throughout the hospital * Promoting and developing best practise through strategic implementation of change in line with research and up-to-date legislation guidelines including CQC and CQUIN. * Developing effective systems and procedures for safe practise and service user empowerment and evidencing same through an effective quality assurance programme * Representing the nursing team within the wider MDT and with external organisations at all levels. * Line managing and providing a clinical supervision and appraisal structure for the nursing team ensuring motivation, development and performance management of staff. * Being actively involved in formal processes including disciplinary proceedings and recruitment. * Working closely with the Hospital Director to promote the service and deputise in absence of the site manager. * Effectively managing nursing resources and rota within set budget. * Taking part in on-call rota along with Hospital and Clinical Directors.
