Major Danny Williams joined the command staff in 2014 after 28 years of service with the Department. Major Williams has held several critical command level operational position within the Department to include S.W.A.T., Vice, Gangs, Operation Disruption, and South Central Property Crimes Investigation. Among other noteworthy assignments, Major Williams was the operational commander during one of the first Big D NYE celebrations in downtown Dallas. Also in downtown Dallas, Major Williams had a command assignment during the infamous April 2006 Dallas Hispanic 500,000 person Mega-March. As a current commander of the Dallas Police Department's South Central Patrol Division, Major Williams' focus is on operational strategies toward crime fighting and community development through increased police-community interaction.
