PhD in Computer Science, Computer Vision, Machine Learning and Biometric Identification. Investigated automatically describing and identifying pedestrians from surveillance footage using human understandable, soft biometric labels with machine learning and deep learning techniques including state-of-the-art CNN models. Researched novel techniques to understand and interpret the actions of staff and customers from retail CCTV footage.

Following an in-house internship, I freelanced for dotDigitalGroup, building new email templates for desktop and mobile, and supporting previous campaigns - alongside studying at University.

Employed by dotDigitalGroup as a developer, creating editable HTML email campaigns for companies as diverse as BNP Paribas, EDF Energy, Nationwide, DHL and the BBC. Along with the construction of over 100 bespoke campaigns, my responsibilities included rigorously testing the user editable templates, liaising with the sales team and directly supporting clients. As well as understanding the overall email campaign process, from the initial brief to the final send, I’m now an expert in HTML compatibility issues for a range of email clients and web browsers. My team-working and time management skills have also been strengthened by my experience with dotDigitalGroup.

I was part of the team that set-up the new Tec7 outlet in Croydon, working for 6 months selling a wide range of technology from computers to TVs. During this time I explained technical concepts to a diverse range of customers, managed stock and organised the sales floor. With personal daily sales often in excess of £3k, I took sole charge of the concession on many occasions.

During my time at Paperchase, I acquired many key retail skills such as using a CoPOS till system, making linked sales and keeping the retail space stocked and customer friendly over the busy festive periods. I also worked as part of a large team across the whole sales floor where I learned the importance of group coordination.

Researching cutting-edge Human Recognition techniques using the latest in Soft Biometric and Computer Vision research. The project is supervised by Prof. Mark Nixon, as part of the VLC research group at the University of Southampton's ECS.
