I've been in tech for 20 years, startups, big tech, IC, manager, most recently UI Platform at Netflix, and through all of it I've learned the value in career routines. My focus on routines started before tech, attending the country's top ski academy for high school, training with Olympic athletes, and later coaching racing myself. I've seen what routines can do for sports and fitness, and I believe the same applies to careers. So many people get caught up in their current job and lose focus on the overall picture of their career, which takes away from confidence that you're ready for change, whether that's AI, layoffs, or whatever comes next. I'm currently taking a short career break and am building a coaching program to help other software engineers move forwards in their career.
