Daniel Klamer

Vice President, Business Development & Scientific Strategy @ Anavex Life Sciences

About

I am a clinical-stage biotechnology executive with 15+ years of experience shaping R&D portfolio strategy, prioritizing clinical development, and translating scientific innovation into enterprise value creation. My work focuses on CNS and rare diseases, advancing assets from early biological rationale through Phase 2/3 execution, regulatory strategy, and launch readiness. I currently serve as Vice President, Business Development & Scientific Strategy at Anavex Life Sciences, where I play a leadership role in portfolio prioritization, indication strategy, and capital-efficient development planning for late-stage CNS programs. I work closely with executive leadership, investors, partners, and scientific stakeholders to ensure development decisions are data-driven, strategically aligned, and value-focused. In addition to my operating role, I serve as a Board Member of a biotechnology company, gaining hands-on experience in governance, strategic oversight, and fiduciary-level decision-making. I am particularly effective at the intersection of science, strategy, and execution -bringing clarity to complex decisions, aligning cross-functional teams, and guiding organizations through critical clinical and strategic inflection points. I thrive in environments where rigorous science must be matched with disciplined governance, capital awareness, and long-term vision.
