I have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a broad range of experience in manufacturing, software development and quality assurance. Whatever I am working on, it almost always involves a mix of creating or analyzing something and organizing or managing something. The product or industry may change, but the fundamental activities remain the same. Having a wide-open job description at Global Manufacturing Services makes each day interesting. One day I might be creating a new report for our scheduling department and the next day creating a 3D printed fixture for a soldering robot setup. My title is Quality Manager but tracking nonconforming parts or managing corrective actions is a very small part of what I do. I have found that I enjoy the challenge of taking on new assignments that I’ve never done before, whether it is a new task at work or whatever my latest home improvement project involves. By using my current skillset and adding to it by learning whatever is needed for the current project, I can take on almost anything.
