Sr. Principal Mechanical Engineer
Technical lead and contributor on research and development projects supporting future propulsion machinery. In this role I conceptualize novel designs for rotating machinery using a variety of engineering tools, including Siemens NX, Teamcenter, Romax Gear Analysis, ANSYS, MatLab, and custom codes. My experience at Baker Hughes centered on new product development and manufacturing support. During this time, my roles provide me increasing levels of responsibility. As a design engineer, I owned the product design from concept generation through initial production, with field support as needed. This allowed me to gain hands-on and technical experience in 3D CAD modeling, 2D drawing creation, detailed analysis (FEA), material procurement, lab experiments, component inspection, prototype assembly and test. Hardware was designed to meet high-temperature, corrosive downhole environments, and survive harsh handling and operational shock and vibration conditions. In this role I also provided pier guidance in engineer software tools, and reviewed engineering drawings for intelligent GD&T application to effectively and efficiently define product definition, meeting ASME standards and internal best practices.
