Daniel Peelen

Hi, I’m Danny! As a third-year Computer Science student at the University of Pittsburgh, I have found I am passionate about building scalable AI/ML systems to solve real-world problems. I’ve developed an end-to-end recommendation pipeline as a Machine Learning Engineer Intern at Thursday, built production-ready micro-apps at PNC, and supported students as a Discrete Mathematics TA. I also enjoy exploring personal projects around fine-tuning language models and building transformers. As a developer, I aim to design solutions that are both technically robust and user-focused. Whether that is reducing prediction latency at scale, improving testing standards, or advancing translation technologies, I am motivated by challenges at the intersection of machine learning, systems, and product development.
