Specialties: Modified Atmosphere Packaging Design in Kenya, BRC and SEDEX Team Leader Fresh produce is more susceptible to disease organisms because of increase in the respiration rate after harvesting. The respiration of fresh fruits and vegetables can be reduced by many preservation techniques. Modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) technology is largely used for minimally processed fruits and vegetables including fresh, “ready-to-use” vegetables. Currently my interest has been on the new technology of Modified Atmosphere Packaging Design and improving of the quality and the shelf life of fresh cut fruits and vegetables here in Kenya. I have used Perfotec Laser machines in Kenya for more than 10Years now. I have also worked with different laser models Technology STUDIES: JSB GROUP(UK) - Jeffrey was my Lecturer who took me through the basics concepts of MAP and packaging Design. PERFOTEC (NL) - Martijn De Bruin was the one who trained me on understanding the laser machine and calculations for the packaging design. TOP BV (NL) - Marice Boonman was the one who trained me on the respiration meter and online calculations for the packaging design. DAH BAH (TAIWAN) - Bastian trained me on the basics of the machine operation and maintenance. MLT (GERMANY)- Gunther trained me on using different laser Tech that can do multiple things like sribbing ACHIEVEMENTS: Kenya Horticultural Exporters - this was the first company I ever worked with new technology where we achieved best of quality and even went commercial and improved shelf life. All this happened with the help of Snehal Patel who ensured I got all the best of knowledge. This got us through the BRC accreditation. Mapflex Kenya Ltd - this was the second company that brought in another laser from Perfotec, again I did my level best and started from scratch until we went commercial and had it BRC accredited. Packaging Industries Limited - Worked under Packaging Expert Richard Hartley who broadened my knowledge on Food Science and Technology. This made me understand much more than I already had. Am also the BRC and SEDEX Team Leader I have also been involved in different fields in the same sector such as:- Raw Material Intake, Quality Management, Logistics, Sales, Document Implementation and Control,Customers Audit and many more.
