A valued team member in the planning department, who creates work orders in AX Prod and approves purchase orders for new sales order entries and to maintain safety stock inventory levels on hand. Generates lead time quotes in AX TEST for parts that do not have lead times or are above the max guaranteed amount. Process transfers from the warehouse to service centers around the globe. As part of the team, assists in the day to day business and help keep that flow going while other planners are on PTO by filling in with others to cover their job duties. Occasionally, create purchase orders for sub-contract work, including contacting subout vendors for pricing and leadtime as needed. Collaborate with team members across the organization (Planning, Accounting, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Programing, Maintenance, Warehouse, Safety, Comm Ops, Sales, and Welding departments to make good quality parts). to insure proper inventory is maintained, orders are filled by customer need by date, and to assist in accomplishing company goals.

A valued member of the Machine Shop team, I am able to setup and operate CNC lathes to make machine parts to blueprint specifications. Measure parts using precision measuring equipment and gauges. Work with other departments to make sure the flow of part and the quality of the product meet or exceeds customer needs. Make slight program improvements to optimize both speed and tool life expectancy. Work with planning, engineering, manufacturing, quality, programing, warehouse, safety, maintenance, tool and die, and welding departments to make good quality parts.

I have been a Machinist III - Programmer during the entire time as Production Scheduler working as weekends were available, as well as filling in, as needed, in key areas to keep the production flowing. I am currently running two lathes and two shapers in our bell gear cell, as well as, training an employee for a second shift position. I continue to make thousands of quality gears and housings that go in our high quality PTO's. I only have two classes left after this semester to complete my associates degree in business administration. Manage the scheduling department to analyze data, create weekly schedules, and work orders for the Tulsa, OK manufacturing facility. Work with 3 production supervisors and 70+ machinists to manufacture raw material into finished parts that go into the Muncie Power Products brand of PTO units. Also, work with multiple departments (purchasing, quality, assembly, engineering, warehouse, kitting, drafting, safety, and upper management at Tulsa and Corporate) to make sure inventory levels are maintained to be able to supply customers with product. Since most of our business (85%) is drop in, and we ship same day or next day, working with purchasing to make sure raw material is ordered and maintained at predetermined levels and adjusted as sales fluctuate, is necessary. Assist and schedule the process of expediting parts through the facility from raw material, to the work centers, to heat treat, through hard turn, to the assembly departments. Lead scheduling meetings twice a week. I have been a member of the best practices for pollution prevention (BMP) team for over five years.

Create CNC programs for lathe and mill parts in Esprit from solid drawings drawn in Solid Works. Create tools, tool paths, speeds/feeds and generate code. Proof out programs in CNC machines and make adjustments as needed. Training off and on till promoted to Production Scheduler, still occasionally download programs and make edits. Continue to operate CNC horizontal milling centers, NC saw, occasionally operate CNC lathe, forklifts, and other manual machinery. Use precision and non-precision hand tools and measuring equipment.

Trained in the horizontal milling department to manufacture both cast aluminum and cast iron housings. Setup machines and proof out programs. Make parts to blueprint specifications using upwards of 42 different tools, occasionally building tools and modifying fixtures to make a variety of different housing units. Created over 10,000 housings before being promoted to Production Scheduler. Have made over 2,000 more housings working on Saturdays and filling in as needed as Production Scheduler.

I make thousands of quality gears of various types that go into our great line of Power Take Offs (ptos) I have been trained on setup and operation of CNC lathes, CNC mills, NC gear hobbing machines, NC gear shapers, chamfering machine, gear shaving machine, deburring equipment, OD grinding, NC broaching, blueprint reading, precision measuring and inspection equipment, and part stamping. I also have my certified forklift license. I originally came to Muncie from Key Personnel to work in the shipping and receiving department. I did well in processing orders and was able to take the machinist test offered. I passed it with the 2nd to highest score at the time. I worked in the past at a manual machine shop for 4 years and learned over 30 different types of machinery including mills, lathes, drill presses, forklifts, over head cranes, grinders, VTL's, hydraulic presses, etc. I got the opportunity to work in the gearing department learning the different types of equipment and after my training I went to the night shift for about 13 months. Our company is growing and adding more machines and machinists. I have a drive to succeed and proven effective management skills. I also train other employees as team leader in the flat gear cell on a twin spindle lathe, broach, hob, and shaver. I have been trained in the OD hard turning area and then moved to the misc. gear cell as the team lead. I am a BMP safety team member which meets for best business practices for pollution prevention. I also assist on setup reduction and lean 5S procedures. I have been successful in reducing excess movement, while producing great quality product at the same time saving the company money for reducing scrap. I offer suggestions for improvement and use critical thinking with my team to accomplish production goals. I keep and open mind to new procedures and polices suggested by upper management and implement them into my daily routine.

Customer service and parts research. Inventory control. Assisted customers and our service techs in finding the correct parts to fix and repair their Haas CNC and other brand machinery. Called vendors and followed up on orders. Ordered correct parts in a timely manner to meet goals, if parts were not in stock. Created a warehouse label system and tied it to a computer spread sheet to make warehouse inventory easy to locate and inventory counts to be more accurate. Also processed service request and completed service paperwork. Researched and ordered tooling and inserts. Assisted in installing some new machines and replacing certain parts with our repair techs (filters, motors, spindles, cables, hoses, switches, etc.). Also assisted in turret alignment, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance. Used computer programs including, Excel, Word, Outlook, Open Office, Peachtree, Haas Portal, SAP, etc.

Worked on a Rail Vac. Mostly around Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey and Minnesota, assisted on railroad maintenance, set up and shut down equipment, general and preventative maintenance, reverse moves, radio communications, signal recognition, worked with customer teams from Amtrak and CSX. Successfully past BNSF rail-safe and Amtrak training. Safety on track and passed CPR and AED training. Used various hand and power tools.

Set up new customer accounts and processed orders. Ordered Phillips lighting and other specialty lighting for customers. Facilitated customer appreciation events. Maintained checking account and shop cleanliness. Kept store front stocked and assisted counter customers with product pickup. Routed van driver for delivery schedule. Answered phone, placed orders, shipped product to customers via Fedex or LTL, processed accounts receivable. Up sell product to clients for longer life and better application. Inventory control. Replaced transformers, ballast, bulbs, and light fixtures. Used Microsoft products: Excel, Word, Outlook.

Worked my way up from a packager to a grocery stocker, to a night manager, when I was younger, from 1994-1997. I hired back into the company in 2000 as a night manager. I was in charge of about 20 to 50 employees at night and took care of the day to day operations (Customer service, delegating tasks, counting tills, cashing checks, walking the store regularly to check for items that might cause customer safety issues, checking refrigeration, making sure the bathrooms were clean, stocking items that were on sale that needed to be filled, pulling cardboard, rotating stock for freshness, training employees for the next level of employment, preparing the store for next day of business(pulling trash, sweep, mop, buff aisles, stock sacks at registers, clean break room, make bank deposits, count tills)) , Did well to provide great customer service, that the store was faced and stocked, made sure the store, bathrooms, and parking lot were clean and presentable for our customers. Oversaw training and development of new employees to learn tasks and skills needed to move to the next level in their career. I moved up from a night manager in 2005 to an assistant store manager and was over the entire grocery department, as a grocery manager. I ordered product from multiple sources, checked in grocery trucks, did inventory control, product placement, managed a stock crew of 4 to 7 people, including writing schedules, checking time in computer and uploading to payroll, scheduling vacations, made signs for sale items, worked with multiple vendors for product fulfillment and placement of new items. Also, did quarterly inventory audits. Assisted in the hiring, firing, and training process. Filled in where ever needed, from sweeping the floor, cleaning a spill, bringing baskets in from the parking lot, cashiering, stocking all departments (grocery, meat, product, dairy, etc.), counting tills, office work, making deposits, etc.

Manual machinist that made customer parts to blueprint specifications. Madison was a job shop, so every job was different and thinking outside the box to setup jobs was a must. I was trained to setup and operate multiple sizes of vertical turret lathes up to 10' diameter table, regular lathes up to 5' diameter chuck with 16' length of parts, mills up to 6' travel, drill presses up to 6' radial arm, hydraulic presses up to 250 ton, and grinders. I also learned how to re-machine and hand scrap gibs. I was trained on a 50'​ x 6' skin mill with multiple heads and on both a 20'​ x 6' and 40' x 8' surface planner. I operated various sizes of overhead cranes up to 25+ tons, multiple sizes of fork lifts up to 30,000 lbs, and also delivered parts using different size vehicles. Several occasions I was assigned to outside companies to assist in jobs that were too large to bring to our shop: including but not limited to Ford glass plant to replace shafts and laser align their glass cutter, PSO to work on steam pressure vessel seals, Tinker AFB and the FBI building in OKC to replace and install shredder blades in their paper disintegrator as well as noise cancelling equipment for the disintegrator. I cleaned and disassembled multiple types of machinery and gearboxes for assessment, made parts, and then aided in reassembly. Installed bushings, shafts, seals, gears, belts, pulleys, and bearings. Sharpened drill bits and hand ground specialty tools for facing and boring. Setup and operated different type of material saws. Used multiple types of hand and power tools. Used multiple types of inspection and precision measuring equipment. Moved machinery and loaded trucks with overhead cranes and forklifts.

I decided in 2015 to go back to school and finish a college degree. Our overtime went away, so I was not able to go back in 2015. In 2017, I decided to start taking 1 to 2 classes a semester, because the time will pass anyway and I wanted to be more valuable employee and open opportunities for future job advancements. Finished in the spring of 2021 with a 3.8 GPA. It has been a slow process working 50-65 hours per week and having a wife and two kids, but I believe it was worth it. I look forward to completing an accelerated bachelors degree.

Completed 220 hours of training including: basic shop math and precision measuring equipment, CNC mill operator, and CNC lathe operator training. Was trained on setup on 3 different brands of CNC Mills and CNC lathes to receive the Nims certifications.

Honors English 1 and 2, College Algebra, Plane Trigonometry, and Federal Government. After high school I was driving 30 miles each way to Tulsa to attend college, while holding down a full time job. I could not keep up and did not see a benefit at the time, so I stop attending. I started back in 2017, 20 years later and now am almost there.
