Leading and managing all HR/IR related aspects in the African region for SNC Lavalin. The responsibilities for the current position includes the management of all operational HR Business Partners in a matrix organizational structure. This position further requires me to manage a team of shared services specialists that include specialist teams for Training and Development, Global Mobility, Industrial Relations, Systems and Administration, Recruitment and Compensation with my direct reporting line to a Vice President position based in Houston, USA. I further perform the duty of HR Business Partner to the Regional Snr Executive of the company for the Sub Saharan Africa region and serve as part of the Executive Management team for the region. I have direct involvement in the rolling out of global HR projects that includes the implementation of a major EAP system. The most recent project I am directly involved in is a organizational culture program where I have been certified as an accredited Human Synergistics® facilitator. I have also performed the support to business to interpret the results from culture surveys and do management debriefing on regional and business unit trends. I have supported the business in Australia and Africa as well as attended workshops with HR professionals in Canada and the Middle East in support of this project. I have extensive experience in leading the HR function in a decentralized model and supporting complex projects in very remote locations. I have also been involved in the recruitment and mobilization of local workforce as well as recruitment from the far east into remote locations to support the execution of these major projects.
