Subcontracted to refurbish suspended ceiling and shop fronts for high street stores, offices and government departments. Ensuring the clients specifications were adhered to within the health & safety guidelines.

Undertaking the running and operation of the plant room for swimming pools in compliance with the Operating Procedures to ensure that water quality was maintained within national guidelines. Carried out weekly maintenance and regular backwashes and timely completion of documentation. Trained senior members of staff in emergency action procedures.

Responsible to the Leisure Facilities Manager for the day-to-day operation of a 20 acre Leisure Centre that included free-form and competitive swimming pools, dry sports halls, fitness suite, lounge bar, external running track, tennis courts, parkland and boating lake by ensuring appropriate staffing levels; allocating work and ensuring that it is competently undertaken; front of house reception, dealing with the general public and induction into the use of equipment

* Responsible to the Paddling Pool Manager for the daily smooth and safe operation of four outdoor paddling pools situated in the County of Conwy. Ensured that all paddling pools were back washed, surrounding areas clean and well maintained * undertook daily pool tests * dealt with emergencies and record keeping.

Shop Steward for the TGWU I was involved in meetings that were related to Health & Safety of Staff, Public, and internal/external contractors within all Leisure Centres. This included liaising with the leisure management to ensure Procedures, Risk Assessments and COSHH to name a few were up to date and amended accordingly as well as identifying new risks/hazards and implementing manuals for the guidance of operating machinery and equipment. Also being responsible for the training of staff in the use of wet and dry side equipment throughout the building and ensuring personal records were kept up to date.

* Seconded to Llandudno Swimming Pool as Manager to reorganize Operational, Emergency and Normal Procedures from administration through to poolside duties * streamlined staffing levels * implemented budgetary controls * and co-ordinate training. Representative on the Health & Safety, Leisure Management and Staff Committees
