Owner Operator of a successful Carpentry maintenance business undertaking projects up to $200 000. Scope of works included insurance repairs and government maintenance contracts. Administrative duties included tending for projects,invoicing, safety compliance, quoting and scheduling suppliers and contractors.With a turnover of $400 000 the business was a small enterprise but required a hands on approach with a strong focus on customer service producing quality workmanship.

Delivering quality service and sourcing new business selling plasterboard and associated products to the construction Industry. Reporting directly to the General Manager the role required a high level of autonomy with an expected turnover of $2 million annually in sales to meet KPI's. Establishing trust with clients and providing technical information was integral to ensuring that repeat business was captured. Cold calling and telesales were the primary method of attracting new business.Add on service I provided included quoting for supply and install of linings and associated products as well as connecting supply and install contractors to the general public.

After completing my apprenticeship and returning from UK as a qualified tradesman I found employment with the Munro Group formally known as Munro and Staib. During my 6 years with the business I progressed to Leading hand Carpenter/Foreman from carpentry tradesman.Projects were varied with the construction of Forest Lake retirement villages (Albany Creek and Taringa) being the prominent type of construction undertaken. My role was to liaise with contractors and suppliers from site clearing to completion of each building consisting of four to eight 2 storey apartments. I was appointed as one of the companies first safety officers to implement robust safety policy and procedures. Managing staff and sub contractors scheduling works including procurement to make sure projects were completed on time and to budget.

Managing staff and students at Careers Australia Nerang Campus on the Gold Coast producing high quality industry relevant training to the construction and transport industry. Working collaboratively with senior management devising strategic plans, managing budgets,forecasting whilst keeping a safe work environment on site.Other associated tasks include facility maintenance, producing staff rosters, scheduling and business development. Well versed in contractual obligations surrounding VET invest and CSQ funded programs, with very strong networks with non for profit organisations JSA's, GTO's and DES.
