• Sharing my experience from the UN International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY)’s Victim and Witnesses Section with newly-employed staff of the Victim and Witnesses Office of the Court of BiH. • Assessing civil society organisations (CSOs) for engagement with the newly-established War Crimes Chamber (WCC) within the Court of BiH. • Being the first point of contact for all CSOs in BiH when they contact the Court of BiH. • Meeting NGOs, human rights/women/advocacy/victims’ associations to provide information about the mandate and role of the WCC and explore options for partnership arrangements. • Assessing community needs against upcoming trials to create engagement strategies. • Providing recommendations on engagement with CSOs to senior managers. • Designing and managing the Court Support Network project, including reporting to, and meeting with, international donors on progress/impact of the project.

Working with Support and Protection Officers to facilitate video link testimonies from the Western Balkan region. • Providing language services to Protection and Support Officers when making detailed witness protection and psycho-social assessments, which involved travel across the region. • Assisting in the creation of a referral network for victim and witnesses, assessing the availability of community services and providing necessary, relevant information to witnesses. • Liaising with various NGOs and international organisations regarding service provision for victims.

• Providing administrative support to the UNMiBiH’s Human Rights Office/Housing Action Team, which was tasked with vetting police officers in BiH. • Providing daily support to the Head of the Housing Action Team (tasked with one element of vetting) and its international lawyers, in managing information regarding police officers’ conduct. • Serving as the central contact for all regional Human Rights Offices across BiH, receiving and dealing with complaints against police officers for violation of housing laws, and making recommendations to the Head on the steps needed for progress. • Involved in UNMiBiH inspections of police administration offices across the country, which included inspecting files, IT systems and people.
