Daisy Norgate

I graduated from the Royal veterinary College in 2012. After a couple of years in mixed practice, I pursued a career solely in anaesthesia and completed a 1-year anaesthesia specific internship at the University of Liverpool followed by a residency in anaesthesia & analgesia back at the RVC, which I completed in 2019. Following on from my residency, I headed the anaesthesia team at Fitzpatrick Referrals working at both the orthopaedic and neurology hospital and the soft tissue and oncology hospital. During my time at Fitzpatrick Referrals, I obtained my European specialist status in June 2021. For the remainder of my time down in Surrey, I worked solely at the soft tissue and oncology hospital (renamed Aura Veterinary). I left the team there and started at Blaise referrals in November 2023, which is a relatively new referral hospital located in Birmingham, UK. Alongside my role at Blaise referrals, I have become a Clinical Fellow in Veterinary Anaesthesia & Analgesia at Harper & Keele Veterinary School, in which I oversees the clinical teaching in anaesthesia for the vet students. I have a particular interest in acute and chronic pain medicine, locoregional anaesthesia as well as the anaesthetic management of patients undergoing invasive vascular surgeries. I also thoroughly enjoy teaching and lecturing to both vets and nurses in a range of anaesthesia related topics.
