I was recruited into this role to join newly created unit which provided specialized cardiac care across the hospital on an as-needed basis. I collaborated with the healthcare team in each unit to meet the specialized physiological and psychological needs of pediatric cardiac patients by evaluating diagnostic tests and performing patient assessments.

In this role, I was responsible for supervising nurses and other healthcare professionals who delivered home healthcare to pediatric patients by managing staffing issues including scheduling. In addition, I also created plans of care for submission to insurers as well as for use in providing care to our patients.

I worked as part of the IV Therapy team across the hospital, providing venipuncture, and IV administration services as needed. I also floated across several hospital units, assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating patient care plans for a wide range of illnesses and symptoms.

This role was a short term PICU assignment, where I managed life support equipment and administration of IV fluids and medication, as well as monitoring telemetry and responding to codes.

I was responsible for caring for critically ill patients in pediatric ICU by utilizing effective nursing processes to optimize patient outcomes and providing exceptional physician support.

I provided direct nursing care for a high volume of diverse patients and family members while establishing rapport with patients and medical staff.

In my current role, I deliver pediatric patient care services before, during, and after surgery by preparing patients for surgery, providing emotional support, and assisting the surgeon. My main responsibilities encompass maintaining a sterile environment in the operating room and preparing the surgical suite for operations. I am also a member of the Nursing Council and Nursing Policy Committee.

In this short term assignment, I worked with pediatric patients in a PICU, interpreting orders and evaluating diagnostic tests to identify and assess the clinical status of our patients. I was fortunate to work closely with an interdisciplinary team to determine the best care options to maximize outcomes for our patients.
