• Conduct and manage industrial hygiene sampling interventions, determining sampling methodology, investigating worker exposure in a variety of industrial settings (e.g., lumber mills, manufacturing facilities, etc.), and sample collection of air contaminants such as respirable particulates, silica, formaldehyde, isocyanates, and metals in air. Report preparation includes analysis of laboratory results and providing recommendations to minimize worker exposure. • Complete indoor air quality assessments in residential, commercial, and governmental buildings, investigating the concentration of airborne contaminants and the potential causes of an air quality issue. Provide recommendations to improve overall indoor air quality. • Procedural development including exposure control plans, safe work procedures, and risk assessments to ensure regulatory compliance. • Provide and carry out practical training for asbestos abatement workers (WorkSafeBC Level 2 Asbestos Safety certification) in accordance with updated OHS regulatory requirements, to ensure safety standards within the industry are improved and reduce the potential for worker exposure incidents.

• Perform Hazardous Materials Assessments of pre-demolition houses and houses undergoing renovations, taking representative samples of potential asbestos-containing materials following regulatory requirements, ensuring safety of all involved in the project. • Operate air monitoring instrumentation during and after the asbestos removal process, analyze samples, and complete reports detailing the results in order to meet the high safety standards required by WorkSafeBC. • Complete Post Abatement Inspections of project sites, communicating deficiencies to contractors if necessary, and preparing final clearance reports to ensure the site is free of contamination and safe for workers and clients to enter.

• Perform accurate and detailed assessments of plants in various trials, quantifying the disease severity among various product treatments for statistical analysis. • Apply pesticide products at different rates using a CO2 backpack sprayer wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, ensuring safe handling of potentially dangerous substances. • Complete data entry into an Excel spreadsheet, run statistical tests on the results, and prepare a research report of a rose powdery mildew trial for submission to Agriculture and Agri-Foods Canada.

• Study the process of contaminated sites investigations including PSI's, DSI's, and site remediation, carry out field and laboratory exercises such as groundwater monitoring and soil vapour analysis for report writing. • Knowledge of occupational health and safety procedures, recognition and control of common contaminated sites hazards, culminating with participation in a hazardous site simulation exercise as an entry team member. • Independently plan and complete a research report describing water quality in Langley’s waterways, including site selection, sample collection, and analysis for compilation in final detailed report.
