About

In the last three years I have been a personal trainer, a caretaker at a migrant shelter, a server at multiple restaurants, and a math tutor. In my college career I studied math for three years, creative writing, engineering, and Spanish for a few semesters each, and then graduated with a focus in sociology. I learned that neither salary nor status can make me settle, which is why I have dedicated a lot of time and effort to finding a career that I am passionate about. I began practicing coding for fun on FreeCodeCamp last year, and the initial interest and curiosity quickly snowballed into a strong desire to learn and now to the fervor which has driven me to abandon my previous career plans and jump into a completely new field of study. Since, I have learned Spring Boot, Java, PostgreSQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Vue.js, Responsive Design, IntelliJ, Git, Unit Testing (JUnit), E/R diagrams, and Integration Testing, and I am eager to learn more. I am searching for employers and companies that allow room for growth and are dedicated to mentorship and teamwork, and I am just plain excited to start my career as a Software Developer.
