As the Head of Energy Transition, Sustainable Business and Infrastructure, in the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, my work covers: delivery of bank’s climate finance targets in the energy sector; origination of innovative instruments and products to scale up investments towards a net zero energy sector, with particular focus on renewable electricity, energy storage, smart integrated energy infrastructure, renewable and low-carbon fuels (incl. hydrogen, e Fuels, biofuels); policy dialogue for the creation of effective markets and regulatory frameworks for accelerating the energy transition. Highly technically literate (MSc in Mechanical Engineering, PhD in Energy Engineering) with core competence in managing and influencing client relationships for effective investment planning and delivery on industrial energy efficiency, power generation (advanced gas-fired power plants, rehabilitation/repurposing of legacy installations, all types of renewable energy plants), gas infrastructure, Paris Alignment and carbon emissions mechanisms. Early career as university researcher and lecturer on energy markets and advanced energy systems, technical director of the Venice Energy Agency, and regional business line manager in one of the top global energy engineering consultancies.
