Courtney Gillette

Programs admin by day, writer and teacher by night. I've worked in education since 2001, with a brief jaunt into publishing before returning to higher education. In 2021, I'm thrilled to join Sarah Lawrence College as Director of the Writing Institute, offering classes and workshops for writers everywhere. Over the years I've helped to manage events and programs for a private school, a writers' conference, fundraising events, the National Book Awards, and the NYU Summer Publishing Institute. In 2020 I helped to reimagine the NYU Summer Publishing Institute as a virtual intensive and executed the program successfully. As a writer I've published essays, books reviews and interviews in Electric Literature, BuzzFeed, Lambda Literary, Tin House and elsewhere.
