My grandfather planted a vineyard in Devon the year I was born. I didn't plan to end up in distilling. It just made complete sense when I got there.I'd grown up around wine, around the land, around the idea that what you grow in a place tells you something about that place.When I discovered grappa, what the Italians make from the grape skins left behind after winemaking, something clicked. Nobody in England was doing it. I went to Italy, learned how it was done properly, came back, and built a distillery.That was 2012. Devon Distillery has been running ever since. What we do now is a lot more broader.We're a full contract distilling operation, meaning if you have an idea for a gin, a rum, a house spirit for your bar or hotel, or a branded spirit for your business, we can make it happen. Custom recipes, white label, everything from 20 litres up to 10,000 litres plus.We also hold your hand through the parts nobody warns you about - the HMRC paperwork, the labelling regulations, the packaging decisions. Most of our clients come to us with a vision and leave with a product that their customers enjoy. And then there's Ginny.She's a 1973 VW pickup with a working copper gin still on the back - the UK's only licensed mobile gin distillery.She's been to weddings, corporate events, festivals, members clubs, and back bars across the country.
