Responsible for the management and support of projects in the Small Molecules and Inhalation Testing Services department to ensure quality and project timelines meet or exceed company requirements while following cGMP, PPD and client SOPs, protocols and methods. Write reports, methods, and protocols. Provide instrumentation troubleshooting. Interact with client contacts to help facilitate conversations regarding development and validation status timelines. Supply direction and training to less experienced analysts.

Performed routine stability testing for inhalation products including nebulizers, nasal sprays, and multi dose inhalers (MDIs). Performed testing with the use of inhalation specific equipment (Andersen Cascade Impactors) as well as HPLCs. Performed method development and validations and spray characterization experiments. Trained assistant scientists on inhalation testing.

Learned testing of inhalation products, primarily nasal sprays and nebulizers, and performed stability testing. Also performed method development and validations for spray pattern, plume geometry, and particle size distribution testing of nasal sprays.

Qualified new instrumentation for use at the Athlone, Ireland laboratory. Performed any additional responsibilities necessary while establishing the new laboratory. These responsibilities include but were not limited to: training staff, supporting sample management, supporting report writing, supporting facilities, supporting IT, and washing glassware. Also, maintained the normal responsibilities as a scientist.

Helped manage a team of 10 analysts while having 4 direct reports for an Inhalation metered dose inhaler program. Was responsible for managing and prioritizing testing schedules to ensure quality and project timelines meet or exceed expectations of the client. Trains and assists in developing staff to ensure all analysts are inline with company policies, SOPs, quality systems, and training programs. Responsible for data and report review. Authored investigations and nonconformances.

Group Leader in the Biopharmaceutical testing team. Responsible for managing a team of 26 analysts with 13 direct reports. Provide management and direction to laboratory staff and resources for project activities and need. Oversee daily operations to monitory quality and project timelines, as well as assist in preparation and implementation of company policies, quality systems, and training programs. Ensure responsiveness to the customer and overall client satisfaction. Plans and monitors the progress and quality of projects by utilizing the financial and quality management tools available at PPD.

Activities and Societies: Ran on the UW-SP track and field team, captain of the team my senior year.
