• Successful completion of Phase I & II Navy SBIR contracts making and testing thermal battery pellets using novel powdered metallurgy methods. • Designed, fabricated, tested, and utilized experimental production and testing equipment. • Analyzed and audited various production times and costs to ensure bids were accurate and performed time studies on actual production to meet time and cost restraints of projects. • Devised, built, and performed tests to measure handling, mechanical, and electrical properties of battery pellets and to measure the handling characteristics of cold-formed “green” powdered metal parts. • Utilized CAD software to produce 3D models, assembly, and production drawings used for in-house and outside machining. • Created graphics, charts, and layouts for project reports and presentations, using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, and CAD. • Worked with outside job shops to produce parts within project specifications. • Sourced and ordered equipment and materials required for projects. • Co-author 40th Power Sources Conference paper, “Hot-Pressed Electrodes for High-Temperature Batteries”.

Assisted in operation of prototype design and fabrication shop that produced working designs of aftermarket suspension and body parts for light trucks and off-road vehicles used by several manufacturers. Learned safe operation of fabrication machinery quickly, such as vehicle lifts, punch and brake presses, MIG and TIG welding, flame cutting, mills, lathes, saws, and hand tools. Developed projects through design, layout, fabrication, testing, and presentation. Worked with manufacturers to design product presentations for trade shows and events. Customized vehicles used in marketing, trade shows, and events.
