Sertapak Packaging Systems Canada designed and manufactured custom packaging for a variety of industries. Sertapak USA, a new division of Sertapak Packaging Systems Canada, opened in 2005 and grew to 80 non-union employees by 2007. As the third onsite employee, provided meaningful Human Resources support to successfully launch this facility start-up, including ensuring all departments were optimally staffed to meet rapidly growing production requirements. Successfully drove company culture and positive employee relations. Administered and oversaw payroll, including 401(k) retirement plans and group benefits. Designed and implemented a health and safety program leading to federal and state Occupational Health and Safety Association (OSHA) compliance.

With 300+ employees located among approx. 30 different locations, this private healthcare company, which is part of the Trudell Medical Limited group, is recognized as the leader in community respiratory therapy in Ontario providing oxygen and respiratory therapy services to clients in their homes and long-term care facilities throughout the province. Supports the HR Director and Sr Management in the development and implementation of a variety of components of HR strategy to support broader corporate objectives. Coaches management and staff in building and sustaining employee relations; oversee, guide and mentor the HR team in job specific competencies. Identify process and system improvements for HR and company program efficiency and obtain support for implementation from stakeholders; lead implementation, utilizing technology to leverage results.

Reporting to the Corporate Human Resources Director, bench-marked, designed and developed corporate and organizational Human Resources policies and procedures leading to compliance and market competitiveness. Supported all salaried leaders and employees in a wide range of Human Resources initiatives. Oversaw disability/WSIB management. Implemented recruitment and employee engagement strategies, including the use of a behavioural analysis tool, leading to improved team cohesiveness and output.
