* Managed a highly diverse Welding and Fabrication Workshop, Covering Complete Installation of Palfinger Cranes for Transport, construction, marine and offshore oil and gas. Comprising of 16 highly motivated tradesmen covering Cairn Installation, Truck welding and Bodywork Fabrication * Manage the day-to-day activity within the Departments. * Maintenance and improvement of housekeeping, 5s disciplines and health and safety. * Manage and report on the operational effectiveness of the department and where applicable individuals. * Reviewing and establishing material, equipment and manpower resource requirements. * Adherence of Production Targets and Quality Standards.

* Managerial Support to the Production Manager on the efficient running of the Beamout and Calender departments. Ensuring there was effective and efficient performance within these departments. Responsible for 50 staff, 5 chargehands and various multi-skilled resources within the areas. * Manage the day to day activity within the Departments. * Ensure product quality and product and process specifications are maintained at all times. * Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for all processes. * Maintain good standards of discipline, housekeeping and working practices within the department. * Manage line operator training and maintain training records/schedules. * Promote effective communications across the departmental boundaries. * Manage and report on the operational effectiveness of the department and where applicable individuals. * Manage all aspects of health and safety associated with the production process. * Ensure current production methods comply with all environmental legislation.

* Utilisation of people management, communication and interpersonal skills to lead multi-skilled teams focusing on all aspects of production. * Complete ownership of quality and productivity levels including yield and throughput reporting and improvement. * Allocation of teams and resources and management of attendance. * Representing the production function within customer focus teams. Ensuring compliance with all relevant procedures and policies.

* Development, maintenance and improvement of assembly processes. * Evaluation and review of processes to reduce inefficiencies. * Leading the team to make process and efficiency improvements. * Directing daily department activities in order to meet production goals.
