Colin Maher

Colin has worked within the weighing industry since starting his apprenticeship after school and his passion and flare for the equipment and staff he works with only grows year on year. Having worked his way from an engineer gaining a HNC in electronics, to being the systems support engineer , to Product Manager for Inspection and now Country Manager for UK and Ireland. In 2015, he made the brave and bold move to relocate the company to Birmingham from Surrey. He did this with a vision of creating a 'centre of excellence' for customers and staff alike. Having overseen the project in every detail, giving up evenings and weekends to ensure it was a success. Once completed the wow factor was certainly achieved! Now, it is in constant use as a demonstration, training centre, workshop, and an amazing environment to work in. Colin's competitive streak sets him aside from other managers and colleagues. Every sales target he sets himself a personal challenge, not just to hit it but to over achieve. He makes it his business to go the extra mile for the team and customers. He passes his enthusiasm to all his staff to encourage and inspire them to be the best they possibly can. His open door policy and frankness with customers and staff builds a trust and relaxed atmosphere which makes people want to do well and be part of his vision. He is always coming up with 'cunning plans' where he can improve the level of customer service we provide, not just to our external customers but to our internal customers (the staff and Germany). One of these plans involved changing the Service business from a low profit division to a very profitable part of the business. Colin did this by listening to his customers needs and providing a full range of contract levels including 24hour cover. As a person he is unique in that nothing is ever done by halves. He is always there to support and listen. If he can help someone then he always will, it's in his nature, no problem is too big or small.
