Full responsibility for all engineering & mechanical work on a busy fish farming site. Duties included servicing, maintenance & repairs to all company vessels, outboards, vehicles & plant. Record keeping for all work undertaken & also stock control for all spare parts, service items & workshop consumables.

Working on various trawling & dredging vessels. Responsibility for engine room maintenance, inspection & repair work. Repairs, maintenance & operation of deck machinery such as winches, cranes & landing gear. Normal deckhand duties associated with working on fishing vessels. Time spent as skipper in full charge of scallop dredger & crew.

Inspection, service and testing of lifeboats, rescue craft, davits, winches & release mechanisms.
