Alt-Bionics, Inc. is a medical device and robotics company specializing in the development of advanced and accessible bionic hands for amputees and humanoid robots. Our mission is to leverage new, advanced, and low-cost technologies to provide affordable, high-functioning solutions to those in need. As a Research and Development Engineering intern, I work closely with industry professionals in Alt-Bionics’ R&D department. My main responsibilities include conducting research, developing technical documentation for products, applying engineering principles to bionic prosthetic devices, and utilizing CAD software for design and rapid prototyping while having the opportunity to push the creative boundaries of my design skills and contribute to the development of the bionic devices.

Contributing to the research, design, and prototyping of prosthetic device for a dog with limb loss and supporting manufacturing and assembly of prosthetic components, gaining hands-on experience in production processes.

Tutoring students one-on-one to help them increase their understanding of course material enhancing student learning with different instructional approaches in different courses including Organic Chemistry, Biology, Genetics, Spanish, Sociology, and others.

Mentoring new Panamanian students scholars with their transition at the University of Arkansas

Main duties: Oversee application files, clerical tasks and general office duties for the Admissions and International Education Offices.

As an Orientation Leader, I helped to facilitate orientation sessions for over 6000 new students, guests, and families. I was assigned various tasks during the day that included helping first-year students successfully transitioning, served as on-campus tour guide, mentored small groups of students to help them connect with other students and organizations.
