Leading the development of a full-scale maintenance organization for a 310,000 sqft OTC manufacturing facility undergoing retrofit and expansion, with phased start-up planned for 2027. Responsibilities include assembling a multidisciplinary team across maintenance execution, metrology, spare parts management, planning & scheduling, and CMMS administration. Supporting SAP implementation and designing foundational processes that ensure safety, compliance, reliability, and operational excellence. Establishing resilient systems to support long-term growth and position the facility as a benchmark in modern OTC manufacturing.

After completing a three-month assignment in Denmark, where I gained expertise in centralized safe work permitting, I was selected to establish and lead the new centralized safe work permitting team at API M1-US. I lead the Central Permit Office (CPO) operations team responsible for safe work permitting across an electrically classified, OSHA and PSM regulated API manufacturing site. This includes oversight of LOTO, Initial Line Break, Confined Space Entry, and Hot & Cold Work permitting. I successfully transitioned the team to a five-shift model supporting 24/7 operations and developed new job descriptions, career paths, and role definitions within a new job family. Through strong organizational development and change management, I built a high-performing team and optimized permitting processes and standards to improve safety, efficiency, and compliance across site operations.

Lead multi-shift maintenance operations supporting 24/7 manufacturing, managing a diverse team of Maintenance Coordinators, General Maintenance Technicians, HVAC Technicians, and E&I Technicians. Successfully transitioned the Maintenance Department from weekday coverage to full 24/7 operations by restructuring existing teams, recruiting, and training additional staff to ensure seamless shift coverage. Oversee weekly scheduling and daily direction for a team of 15–30 employees while maintaining strict compliance with safety and quality standards. Provide sitewide maintenance and technical support to Operations and Utilities, drive continuous improvement through ownership of deviations and problem-solving initiatives, and promote operational reliability and efficiency across all maintenance functions.

Manage a world-class Process Maintenance team supporting a 900,000+ sq. ft. API manufacturing facility. Led the transformation of the Maintenance Department from a project-focused support group into a fully integrated operations team. Oversee weekly scheduling and provide daily direction for a team of 10–20 skilled technicians, ensuring all activities meet stringent Safety, Quality, PSM, and FDA compliance standards. Partner closely with Production to deliver critical maintenance support across Fermentation, Recovery, and Purification areas, driving equipment reliability and operational excellence throughout the site.

Led the Process Maintenance team through the construction and startup of a major API manufacturing facility, building the organization from the ground up to support long-term operational reliability and performance. Partnered closely with Engineering, Construction, Validation, and Operations teams to ensure seamless integration of maintenance readiness into project execution. Supported Factory Acceptance Testing (FATs), drawing and SOP reviews, system walkdowns, and punch list resolution to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient equipment startup. Collaborated cross-functionally to develop comprehensive Maintenance Plans and Critical Spare Parts lists, establishing the foundation for proactive maintenance and asset management. Project managed the successful execution of soft goods changeouts, delivering all milestones on time and in alignment with safety, quality, and operational objectives.

Managed the Maintenance and Metrology Department for a leading injectable pharmaceutical contract manufacturer, overseeing maintenance and calibration across multiple facilities including manufacturing, utilities, laboratories, warehouses, and site grounds. Implemented formal planning and scheduling processes and introduced visual management systems to improve efficiency, communication, and accountability. Restructured the department by evaluating organizational needs, adding key positions, and building a customer service–oriented team to support 24/7 operations. Led with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and operational excellence. Planned and managed plant shutdowns, ensuring timely execution and minimal disruption to production while maintaining GMP, FDA, and safety standards.

As Manager of Maintenance and Engineering, I oversee all site maintenance and engineering functions, reporting directly to the Site Head and VP of Operations. I lead Facility, Utility, and Production Maintenance, as well as Calibration and Maintenance Management Systems, ensuring full compliance with FDA, cGMP, DEA, and local regulatory requirements. I drive operational excellence by optimizing SOPs and PMs, providing SME input for Deviations, Investigations, CAPAs, Impact Assessments, and RCAs, and leading change initiatives through a high-performing team. My focus on reliability and redundancy improvements has directly increased equipment uptime and overall site performance. Key accomplishments include participating in due diligence for a major company acquisition that nearly doubled our U.S. footprint, implementing a structured spare parts inventory, introducing visual management systems, and launching an “Ideas for Improvement” program to promote continuous improvement and employee engagement. I also led efforts to identify and close gaps in P&ID documentation, establishing controlled drawings in collaboration with cross-functional teams. Currently, I’m driving multiple facility expansion projects, including the addition of new manufacturing suites and optimization of equipment layouts to support future growth and efficiency.

As a member of the Mechanical Services team at Nostrum Laboratories, I’m responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of pharmaceutical production equipment, including granulation, compression, encapsulation, and packaging systems. I focus on improving equipment reliability through the development and optimization of preventive maintenance (PM) programs, creation and refinement of critical spare parts lists, and the use of reliability technologies for troubleshooting and performance trending. In addition to production equipment support, I provide secondary maintenance for facility and utility systems such as clean compressed air, purified water, industrial wastewater, chilled water, and boiler/steam systems. I take pride in contributing to a high-performing, compliant manufacturing environment where I can apply my skills daily to support safe, efficient, and reliable operations across the entire facility.

As a Field Engineer at Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, I am part of the Plant Services maintenance team, supporting a wide range of pharmaceutical production and utility systems. I focus on troubleshooting and maintaining sterile filling equipment, compressed air and vacuum systems, and biological and industrial wastewater treatment systems, ensuring continuous, high-quality operations. My role also spans packaging and labeling, live and killed blending, media preparation, equipment prep, antigen production, and other process utility equipment such as CIP skids, heat transfer skids, WFI stills, and pure steam generators. I leverage reliability technologies and perform preventative maintenance to optimize equipment performance, minimize downtime, and support product quality. I enjoy collaborating with diverse, talented teams across departments to improve processes, share expertise, and ensure consistent delivery of high-quality products. At Hughes Machinery Company, I progressed from a residential and light commercial service technician to an industrial service technician, specializing in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, particularly for refrigeration systems. I installed, maintained, and repaired a wide range of compressed air, vacuum, and air quality equipment, including oil-free and oil-flooded compressors, rotary screw, rotary vane, and piston vacuum pumps, desiccant and refrigerant dryers, filters, oil-water separators, and sequencing systems. I completed multiple training courses on Atlas Copco equipment and supported a variety of customers across the Midwest, consistently prioritizing customer satisfaction and operational reliability. I valued the collaborative culture at Hughes, building strong relationships with both colleagues and clients, and appreciated the open communication and accessibility of leadership.

I began my career at Peterson Mechanical/J.A. Peterson Enterprises, where I progressed from a parts runner to performing equipment wash-downs, installations, and eventually service and troubleshooting of residential and commercial HVAC systems. I completed multiple training courses on Rheem HVAC equipment, Lochinvar boilers, and combustion analysis, and pursued additional studies in refrigeration and electro-mechanical troubleshooting at vocational and junior colleges. I successfully passed the Experior Master Mechanical exam, demonstrating advanced proficiency in mechanical systems. My time at Peterson Mechanical provided a strong foundation in hands-on technical skills, problem-solving, and customer service, and prepared me to take on new challenges in industrial and process maintenance roles.
