* Reporting to the Foreman * Prepare work to be accomplished by studying technical assembly drawings and parts lists for building complex machinery; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials. * Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements. * Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies. * Verify specifications by measuring completed component. * Keep equipment operational by calling for repairs. * Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations. * Document actions by completing production and quality forms. * Carried out weekly fire alarm checks.

Reporting to the Foreman All prep work, shot blast, mecanical sanding, hand sanding and masking to new metal fabrications and composite materials and all paint spraying, including etch prime, prime, 2K top coat, polishing and reworking.

* Working within a very busy fast moving motor vehicle crash repair centre * Colour matching. * Colour mixing. * Final preparation before paint was applied. * Painting up to ten cars in a working day with one spray bake oven.

In this role I planned and carried out scheduled maintenance on all the plant equipment from petrol disk cutters to CAT 360 excavators including the fleet of Ford Cargo 7.5 ton tippers lorry’s and Ford Escort vans. Ensuring that safety was not compromised and reliability was improved by regular planned maintenance.

* During this period I started the company and expanded the business, gaining the approval of two large motor vehicle insurance companies, eventually employing 6 staff. * Daily role would consist of * Staff management. * Collection and delivery of vehicles. * Estimation of customer’s vehicles. * Stock ordering * Colour identification

* Continuation of apprenticeship. * Including vehicle crash damage estimating. * Collection and delivery of customer’s vehicles. * Crash repair using Blackhawk P188 jig. Replacement of panels. * Use of mig/gas welders hand tools. * Use of spray guns

This covered all aspects of the Youth Training Scheme YTS. included power tools, hand tools, pneumatic tools,strip and fit, repair and paint motor vehicles
