Led a team utilizing new technologies for the time (VS 2008, C#, .NET 3.5, SpreadsheetML, LINQ and Dynamic LINQ), existing in-house software components (a PowerPoint generator), advanced programming techniques (recursion), and encouraged ideas from developers, to produce a flexible, modifiable client solution on-time.

Designed and/or implemented new software applications through the software development cycle to production utilizing VB.NET, C#, SSIS, SQL Server 2005, DMExpress, Oracle 11g, Unix shell scripting and Cybermation.

Assist with Visual Basic 6 and Oracle 8i PL/SQL modifications to Credit Card Offers system of the Card Services, Marketing Department. Prepare Technical Specifications for modifications based on user requirements documents. Convert client's system from RDO ODBC technology to ADO DBProvider technology as part of a move to Oracle 9i. Remove suite of application’s use of hard-coded file names such as the system’s INI file using a combination of soft-coding INI file location and moving an encrypted password from INI file to database. Rewrite program that encrypts a database role password in INI file to call a new database function that updates a record in the database.

Lead role in establishing a new Visual Basic development environment for clinical software application projects. Work in partnership with internal clients to develop specifications. Develop and maintain software and database using VB 6, Crystal Reports 8.5, Oracle 8 RDBMS, PL/SQL, and ERWin data modeling. Member of a team developing a suite of client/server applications in VB that maintained metadata of clinical data, in Oracle, and documented the process of developing clinical statistical analyses. Designed an object/collection class message system to propagate information across multiple forms. Created an ActiveX DLL of standard functions to be used by all applications.

Assist in development of a barcode Product Tracking System utilizing the Intermec Antares 2420 handheld scanner, programming in Visual C 1.52. Developed a front-end explorer type browser in Visual Basic 6 to review tracked products through the distribution chain, and run Brio reports from VB menu. Assist in developing database validation procedures in Oracle PL/SQL and data formatting program in DEC C. Used Visual C++ 6 and ODBC to extract data from Access databases to text file for loading into Oracle 7.3. Filled position as acting team leader for Product Tracking team while project manager was pressed into managing another project. Planned and performed Year 2000 testing, including travel to three plant sites to perform Y2K testing. Assist other groups needing programming in VMS Oracle Pro*C, PL/SQL.

As Team Leader, designed and implemented a cross-department, multi-national Pharmaceutical Drug Development Project Management application in Visual Basic that acted as middle-ware between a standalone graphical project management program, and two Oracle databases, utilizing our own peer to peer replication (Pro*C & Triggers). Started as a one-person project and escalated to day to day responsibility for five other team members and interaction with users in both the US and France. VB 3, 4/16, 4/32, 5 and Crystal Rpts 5.0. Designed and implemented an Ingres Windows4GL Clinical Trials Cost/Budget Module to project clinical trial costs based on cost of procedures performed across a treatment schedule for a given number of patients. Designed and implemented a project overhead cost allocation system utilizing Ingres DBMS SQL/4GL for maintenance of information, importing external data, and performing allocations in a separate 4GL batch job.

Member of a team responsible for analyzing, designing, implementing, documenting, upgrading a system that merges financial and performance information for an on-line viewing system. Converted batch update program to on-line Client/Server technology. Utilized DEC C with Ingres’ embedded SQL and SQL/4GL.

Assist clients and technical support personnel with problems relating to VAX/VMS, Ingres, and/or MP2000 Legal Time & Billing software. Interact with program development. Coordinate data conversion for new clients.

Member of product development team to produce new legal software package for VAX/VMS utilizing DEC C and Embedded Ingres Quel statements. Designed and implemented a data conversion system to convert data from any source to predefined Ingres relations.

Assisted programming manager in quoting work. Supervised and assisted RPG programmers, reviewing work to be started and work completed. Setup RPG programming standards for all new programming. Interact between programming and other departments.

Programming additions and modifications to Legal Time and Billing System in RPG. Install new clients. Involved in designing and programming new Time & Billing System.

Operated a one-man data-processing department, including data entry, computer operations, RPG programming and day to day scheduling of tasks. Projects included conversion of card based Sys/3 to disk based Sys/32. Redesigned and implemented payroll system in RPG.
