Clifford A. Braimah

I am a water sector reformer with over two decades of experience in engineering, utility leadership, and public service — including eight years as Managing Director of Ghana Water Limited, the state-owned urban water utility. During my time leading the utility, I came to believe that Ghana’s water challenges require more than infrastructure upgrades — they demand systemic change. I am now focused on shaping that change: leading efforts to improve water supply across Ghana through market-based solutions that deliver both efficiency and equity. My mission is to help build a future where every Ghanaian has reliable, affordable access to water — and where utilities operate with accountability, innovation, and financial sustainability. I’m especially passionate about water supply markets as a tool to enhance performance while ensuring no one is left behind. I bring a blend of policy insight, operational experience, and strategic thinking — grounded in years of reading and engaging with business strategy, academic research, and professional water supply literature.
