I also facilitate a pleasant drinking experience for guests by greeting them as they sit down and chatting amiably when they have questions about the menu. During my time at Leña Brava I have also been cross-trained as a hostess and food runner.

Maintained high standards of customer service during high-volume, fast-paced operations, built loyal clientele through friendly interactions, took initiative to find extra tasks when scheduled duties were completed.

During the COVID-19 pandemic I supported elderly individuals and couples who have trouble doing basic day-to-day tasks. This includes running errands, cooking meals, maintaining clean living spaces, assisting with appointments and activities, and other daily responsibilities.

I was one of the artists featured in Episcopal Charities’ 2021 Lenten Reader. This is a 64-page softcover spread of meditations and devotions, diligently prepared right here in Chicago. My painting was selected as the cover image, along with six photographs and a personal reflection.

I was given the COMMON website by my university's communications administration as a last effort to save the site from being dissolved completely. Over the course of my senior year, I reinvisioned and refashioned the COMMON platform. I directed a team who recreated and maintained the common.center website that showcased the projects of our school's creative community. I met and networked with organizations who were represented by COMMON in order to create web pages that were better suited for their purposes. Additionally, I implemented content branding techniques and strategies to aid future creative directors who would come after me.

Despite walking into the interview with zero experience, I was selected for this position because of my eagerness to learn an unfamiliar trade. This job was accompanied by months of training. Notably, I was the second woman to ever hold my position, one that has been long-standing for 40+ years. My daily tasks included setting up and adjusting audio-visual equipment all over campus as well as performing routine maintenance of projectors, computers, and other AV systems. I regularly repaired damaged hardware and conducted troubleshooting routines to determine any internal malfunctions. I also worked with producers/directors on design, testing, installing, positioning, and maintaining of equipment for live recordings and zoom meetings.

I completed my last two years of high school at Richland College in Dallas, Texas. I took college courses and earned college credits with a focus on science and mathematics. I graduated from Richland College with an Associate of Science degree and a high school diploma at the age of 18 and was ready to transfer to a four-year university.
