* During my PhD studies, I analyzed global epigenetic and transcriptomic changes in endotoxin tolerance, which play an important role in the disease process of sepsis. * The PhD project was supported by a 3-year scholarship of the ZIBI Graduate School. * ► Genome-wide analyses of histone modifications, DNA methylation and gene expression * ► ChIP-seq, MethylCap-seq, RNA-seq * ► Bioinformatical analysis and interpretation of next-generation sequencing data * ► Independent project and budget planning * ► Writing of annual progress reports * ► Supervision and mentoring of students

My MSc research project focused on the characterization of novel members of the NOD-like receptor family, which are essential key players in the innate immune defense.

In my Bachelor thesis, I analyzed the composition and changes of the intestinal bacterial flora in mice with experimental colitis.
