Claudia Gold

I am a pediatrician and writer whose work is driven by a passion for listening to young children and caregivers to promote healthy development and relationships. I practiced general and behavioral pediatrics for over 20 years and now specialize in early relational health. My new book, written for an audience of frontline practitioners, is Getting to Know You: Lessons in Early Relational Health from Infants and Caregivers published by Teachers College Press( March 28, 2025.) My other books include The Power of Discord, co-authored with Ed Tronick, (Little,Brown, 2020.) The Developmental Science of Early Childhood (Norton, 2017), The Silenced Child (Hachette, 2016) and Keeping Your Child in Mind (DaCapo, 2011). I am on the faculty of the Brazelton Institute at Boston Children’s Hospital and work as a clinician with Volunteers in Medicine, Berkshires. I speak frequently to a variety of audiences including parents and professionals both in the United States and internationally.
