Kalid Motya

Kalid is a natural leader with exceptional communication and organizational skills. Renowned for his focus on both people and project delivery, he is highly respected by peers and colleagues alike. His unwavering attention to quality, efficiency, and process improvement has made him an indispensable member of every team he’s led — often described as its backbone. With a pragmatic and results-driven approach, Kalid holds a Guinness World Record for managing the demolition of the tallest tower ever brought down using controlled explosives — a testament to his ability to deliver under complex and high-stakes conditions. A French citizen who has lived 8 years in the UK and over 20 years in the UAE, Kalid brings a truly international perspective to design and management. His diverse experience across regions enables him to deliver creative, practical, and culturally attuned solutions. Kalid previously led the development of Abu Dhabi’s Utility Corridors Design Manual and served as Lead Trainer, conducting training sessions for over 700 professionals, including engineers, managers, and directors. He also acted as Advisor to the Abu Dhabi Western Region Municipality, overseeing the implementation of three city-wide master plans. As part of a Quality Management Team, Kalid contributed to achieving the first ISO 9001:2015 accreditation in the MENA region (and the second in the world), further demonstrating his commitment to excellence and innovation. Today, Kalid plays a key role in planning and development delivery for Modon Properties, where his recent projects include the new Mina Zayed Fish Market, the Guinness World Record-winning Mina Plaza Demolition, and the Fisherman’s Wharf Souqs.
