ChewyKeebs was founded as a passion project. It came forth during the pandemic as many including myself found themselves increasingly wanting to improve their productivity and workflow. From our new work-from-home arrangements, it became an obsession to seek the best possible desktop solution through the union of design, engineering and a splash of creativity. Researching anti-oxidant pathways facilitating neuronal pruning in Drosophila flies - Characterising phenotypes of novel mutant lines exhibiting defective neuronal pruning - Identifying molecular lesions from HTS data with GATK - Investigating protein-protein interactions with Google AlphaFold2

Project title: Investigating the effects of descending neurons on gustatory pathways in Drosophila flies Identified novel pathways suggesting previously unknown role of descending neurons in hunger signalling and feeding behavior - automated optogenetic experiments to investigate the effects of activation/inactivation of neurons - DeepLabCut analysis of fly head movement in response to optogenetic activation - confocal imaging of GABA and novel histamine staining of fly brain - built a Unity environment via the fly-on-the-ball setup with FlyVR to allow detailed recording of fly trajectory in virtual reality

Selected as part of a 14-man team to challenge the Winter Technical Mountaineering Course in Langtang Valley, Nepal which culminated in the summit of Tserko peak at an elevation of 5800 metres. Inspired by the tenacity of the MIR pioneers before me, I continued on a pilgrimage to Everest Base Camp (5,364 m) in the Himalayas after our team expedition without the assistance of any porters. Throughout the 19 day course, I was equipped with all the knowledge one would need to conquer mountains in the harshest of conditions: - Ascend (Jumar), Descend (Abseil) and Traversing on a fixed line - Knots & Rope work - Crampons techniques (flat footing, traversing on different terrain, front point technique) - Self-Arrest on different terrain - Ice Axe/Ice Screw/Snow Picket handling - Glacier Travel Technique and Crevasse Rescue (C-Pulley & Z-Pulley) - Top-Rope Ice-Climbing

Representing Singapore to foster intercultural understanding with Rotaract Clubs from all around the world and to improve the lives of our local communities. Organised the following events in collaboration with Rotaract clubs from around the world: - Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam (The World is One Family) - World Clean Up Day 2021 - Rotaract X Exchange 2022 - Gender Based Violence Roundtable 2022

Project Kamleang is an overseas community involvement project that aims to empower girls in Siem Reap, Cambodia to protect themselves from sex trafficking. Providing critical vocational skills such as English literacy, and first aid allows girls to pursue education & seek employment without falling prey to traffickers. This project is also a precursor to the larger Rotary Global Grant project taking place in Cambodia 2023, where we will collaborate with other Rotaract Clubs in Singapore. - Conducted a large scale outreach and recruitment process to select an organising committee of 23 members - Lead the organising team to carry out weekly online workshops in vocational training and first aid - Collaborate with local NGOs and Rotaract clubs to work towards sustainable economic development - Conducted in-depth needs analysis in the Yeang commune in Siem Reap, Cambodia

- Co-authored the paper "H&E-2.0: an extended application of ST-net to liver cancer and its generalizability" for the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) conference - Created a new workflow utilising Harvard's bioBakery tools for meta'omic profiling - Streamlined existing data cleaning processes with Kneaddata, fastQC for downstream analyses - Integrated taxonomic and functional profiling of microbial communities within stool and skin samples with MetaPhlAn and HUMAnN pipelines

Investigating the effects of KASH and SUN proteins on DCM heart disease model in mice in the Cardiovascular Research Institute of Singapore (CVRI). Proficiency in small and large scale cell culture and bacteria work including - gene and plasmid isolation - MiniPrep and MaxiPrep - transfection - virus purification - quantitative PCR

Ageless Bicyclists is a non-profit organization that aims to unlock the potential of people with different abilities moving on to the mainstream and community integration. We enable them to lead independent and fulfilling lives, realizing their dreams and ambitions through inclusive transformative bicycling. As principal coordinator my roles include supporting founder Mr Malcolm Chen in all areas of event planning and execution. - Volunteer management - Logistics management - Social Media Marketing I spearheaded inclusive numerous cycling events through our Cycling for All programme that has - helped over 50 beneficiaries with special abilities get back on their feet - brought together members of SportSG, AWWA, and St. Andrew's Autism Centre, and health professionals from various fields - rallied over 120 volunteers to show their support and bring awareness to special needs in Singapore

Part of the Ministry of Health's Island-wide vaccination project, the Bukit Timah Vaccination Center handles loads of up to 1,900 patients each day. - Crowd management and immediate response to any medical contingencies - Patient management through GPConnect system - Identified possible bottlenecks in the system and implemented solutions both on the ground and in the long term for up-scaling of maximum load - Worked with Senior and Corporate Management to ensure logistic and manpower needs are successfully met to handle human traffic
