Took ownership of all software functions including research software platform. Rebuilt computer vision team and created pipeline of new robot computer vision applications. Drove effort to create first integrated/turnkey robot vision registration system (RPS) for repositioning a robot in a workspace with minimal line switch time. Brought a new robot to market in a year by ensuring one software solution would work across two robot platforms. With QA group, developed methodology to measure and improve software mean time between interrupt (MBTI) by a factor of two within a year. Net result was increasing sales quarter over quarter.

Joined Rethink to drive customer driven features for Intera software platform. Built common understanding of true customer requirements with product marketing, software, QA and support. Created risk/reward based planning process to extract the maximum reward for effort. Lead team in executing with transparency and reliability. Released three software versions on schedule in a year. Net result was nearly tripling of robot performance and quarter over quarter increasing sales for the last year.

Drove adoption of continuous integration, test-driven development and static analysis. Replaced custom code with open source alternatives: Boost, tbb, Qt and vtk. Developed new methodologies and tools to streamline analysis of and visualization of data.

Took ownership of software for automated explosive threat detection. Managed two developers and responsible for directing eight. Problem spanned support of existing products and tools and development for new products. Identified critical bottlenecks in computation and multi-processor scaling. Created algorithm to process 10 times more data at a rate that was three times faster than current solution.

Managed team of 10-14 Software Engineers developing image guided surgical navigation applications. Took team leadership after failed FDA audit. Reorganized and re-energized team to meet aggressive project time-lines while under intense regulatory scrutiny. Developed and drove adoption of new software quality system. The team set the bar for predictable delivery with transparent status reporting, focused execution and a drive to succeed.

Developed Image Guided Surgery Products. Refactored nine-year-old code base from C/Motif/OpenGL/Single Thread/Synchronous Control to C++/Qt/VTK/Multi-Threaded/CORBA. Attended surgical procedures, wrote user requirements through technical requirements and tests. Shipped product. New architecture became base platform for new surgery products. Worked mostly in Linux

One of six founders. Enmed provides web based tools for managing clinical trials. Raised $7 million A-Round, developed product specs, setup Indian development operation, created quality system and delivered product.

Responsible for timely development and delivery of maintainable systems, coordination of functions from concept to operation, and improvement of development processes.
