Managed capital projects at the Fort Saskatchewan site, overseeing the Capital project and Fatality Prevention Standard (FPS) program with an annual budget of approximately $15 million for mid-sized projects, in addition to $10 million for large capital projects each year. This work is conducted in a brownfield environment and onsite, which poses various execution-related risks and challenges. Key responsibilities included: - Managed feasibility, design, engineering, inspections, and construction, along with long-term planning, budgeting, and forecasting for capital and FPS projects. - Executed projects by policies, standards, practices, and procedures and ensured compliance with regulatory requirements; ensured alignment and consistency with Sherritt’s objectives to deliver zero harm to employees, the environment, and neighbouring communities. - Identified and recommended opportunities for improved communication (cooperation) with cross-functional departments and external contractors (construction execution) involved in project execution and management; this included Operations, Inspections, Supply chain, IT, EH&S, and other Asset Management teams, etc. - Contributed as a core team member in developing the Sherritt Project Management Process. - Creating project scopes, estimates, schedules, and execution plans while ensuring that construction work complied with agreed-upon designs, budgets, and completion dates. - Negotiated with contractors and procuring materials and equipment. - Tracked actual costs and forecasted future expenses for project reporting. - Managed changes, conducted risk assessments, and implemented risk mitigation strategies. - Addressed constructability issues commonly encountered in a brownfield industrial environment. - Facilitated the commissioning and turnover of deliverables to clients. - Collaborating with multiple internal clients across various areas of the site.

Responsible for planning, managing, and executing engineering projects by coordinating technical aspects, resources, and timelines. -Oversight for construction, start-up, and commissioning of new process equipment and turnover to the client. -Managed engineering budget of over $10 Million for the project after AFE approval, maintained ownership and conducted execution. -Technical oversight for planning, interpreting, organizing, executing, and coordinating construction assignments and project activities. -Established, managed, and reviewed engineering project schedules; prioritized and re-scheduled engineering deliverables as warranted. Managed project costs, scheduling, and benchmarking. -Managed technical documentation for procurement, construction, and regulatory agencies; obtained required project permits. -Participated in contract administration: tender package preparation, review, award, administration, and reconciliation. -Facilitated stakeholder meetings, operations, maintenance, engineering, and projects/construction to meet safety, schedule, and cost deliverables. -Developed project Job Hazard Analysis and ensured compliance with site safety standards and procedures. -Performed field audits and safety interventions. -Identified workflow process improvements; participated in the development of project management procedures and standards. -Controls and tracks cost to AFE Budgets, through the use of different cost reports (EAM).

-Led successful engineering capital projects in the solid minerals division (Calcium Carbonate, Kaolin, Hydrated-lime, Feldspar, Baryte & Talc) by combining technical proficiencies with leadership capabilities -Navigated the complexities of project management, addressed technical challenges, and maintained a focus on delivering high-quality results that met and exceeded client's expectations. -Prepared engineering work packages, and contract documents, and evaluated tenders for Capital and Expense projects execution. -Prepared and ensured successful completion of cost estimate design specification, the scope of work, scheduling, estimating, monitoring project performance of engineering tasks, and reporting project progress. -Supervised and inspected the installation, modification, and commissioning of mechanical equipment at construction sites in the industrial facilities.

-Assigned to solid minerals, (Calcium Carbonate, Kaolin, Hydrated-lime, Feldspar, Baryte & Talc) mining process, process improvement, and mechanical systems; led long-term investigations of mechanical issues, developed scope packages, and project proposals based on reliability study and made recommendations for capital equipment improvement on Capital Projects.
